Did you guys know that most of the chips sold in US have added MSG. So I started looking for options to make chips at home. Since these are not fried, so I am guessing they are healthier. But definitely better than the ones you get in the market.
Here are my two favorite recipes: (Will add pics when I make them the next time)
Potato Chips:

Potato Chips:
- Peel the potatoes and make thin slices
- Soak in water for 2 mins. Press gently to remove water. Wipe with paper towel.
- Oil microwave safe plate and sprinkle some salt
- Lay potato slices in a single layer
- Brush some oil on top
- Cook high on microwave for 4-6 mins (Depending on power of microwave)
- Put some sea salt and its ready to eat
Plantain Chips:
- Peel the plantain and slice the peeled plantain evenly.
- In a small bowl, mix together the coconut oil, turmeric powder and the sea salt.
- Brush a microwave safe plate with some of this mixture, lay the plantain slices in a single layer on the plate. Do not crowd the plate. Brush the top of the plantains with the coconut oil mixture.
- Microwave on high for 3 minutes. Reduce power of the microwave to 50 % and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Repeat with the other batch.
